Beijing with Helen and China Highlights
China Highlights, and specially Helen (her name is 韩琳 Han Lin), made everything possible for us to visit the most important places and the places we wanted, organized and reorganized our agenda so that we would not have any problems or surprises (for example, we had planned things on Monday that were not available, and they adjusted our program so we could still see them, at the right time) and kept us on time, at every place. We were picked up everywhere, looked after, got recommendations on restaurants, food, etc., in other words, we were completely taken care of. 韩琳 (Helen) listened to what we wanted and took us to places outside our agenda, took the metro with us, helped us with anything from Pekin Opera performances to a visit to the Hongkiao Market, to how to take care of dirty clothes. My birthday happened during our trip and she had a cake, a candle, a lighter, drinks and made sure we celebrated it atop the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall (yeah, they did that!). We could not be happier with the way China Highlights and 韩琳 (Helen) assisted us! more

GWC BJ
Olivia has been an excellent guide and host for my family in Beijing. Our day trip to the Great Wall was most enjoyable and comfortable. She is very attentive to details and looked after our elderly folks with care. Olivia is very adaptive to the needs of the group as we had to pivot from the cable car to chair lift due to the long queue for the cable car ride. She also made a great suggestion for us to catch a production called Golden Mask Dynasty. The show was nothing but grand and spectacular. It was an awesome day! more

China Highlights private tour for 9 days
The tour guide assigned was Lily Liu & Driver Su. Lily added me on WeChat prior to the travel date and ensure information was passed down to me. She was waiting for us at Beijing airport and welcomed us.The tour we had with Lily and Su was great. She brought us to all the places in our itineraries and was knowledgeable in all the places. The food recommended was great too. Both of them are always earlier to wait for us everyday. more

FAQs on China Tour Planning
Here are some expert planning tips to help you get started:
1. What is the best way to tour China?
China is a very large country, but it has built a comprehensive transportation system of airports, trains, highways, subways, ports, and waterways that is world class in many places.
For Western travelers, we suggest traveling between destinations by air or by high-speed railway. For journeys of more than 1,200 km (720 miles), it is probably better to take a plane. For less than that, a bullet train may be a more convenient and comfortable choice.
For traveling in the remote areas of China, a private transfer is recommended if there is no flight or bullet train.
2. How many days should I spend in China?
For first-timers, we recommend at least 8 days for the classic Beijing–Xi'an–Shanghai route, but a 14-day tour would allow you to experience a cruise on the Yangtze River and see the scenery of Guilin as well.
If you are planning a return trip, we will suggest the optimum number of days according to the destinations you are interested in.
3. How much does a tour of China cost?
The cost ranges from 220 to 350 USD per person per day, based on a private China tour for two persons. This includes domestic transportation, private guides, private transfers, hotels, attraction tickets, and lunches on touring days.
