Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park

Themed "Returning to the Nature and Appreciating Art", Yuehu (Moon Lake) Sculpture Park is a comprehensive park with modern sculpture, natural mountain and lake scenery, and landscape art combined as one. The four season's scenery is fully expressed through various kinds of architectural landscapes and supporting facilities.

Highlights of Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park

Walking through the parking lot, visitors first come to Moonlight Square, where the sculpture Flying to Eternity by Bulgarian sculptor Ferrin stands. Surrounded by Dongshe Mountain, Xueshan Mountain and Phoenix Mountain, Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park is composed of the Spring Scenic Section, the Summer Scenic Section, the Autumn Section, and the Winter Section, where the tourist service center, the Children's Intelligent Activity Square, No. 1 Sun and Moon, and Autumn Moon Archway are also available.

Spring Scenic Section

Visitors can fully feel spring is in the air in the Spring Scenic Section, where the recreational facilities are highlighted by the tourist service center, the Water Stage, the Crystal Palace and the view-Watching platform.

Summer Scenic Section

A man-made beach of 5,000-tons of sand is available in the Summer Scenic Section. Many banyan trees are line the this section highlighted by one 12 meters (39 feet) in height and one meter (1.1 yards) in diameter. The view-platforms on the trees offer visitors the best scenery of the park.

Autumn Scenic Section

Visitors will have a sense of harvest in the Autumn Scenic Section, where the architectural sculptures are uniquely designed and well distributed. Highlighted by the Bridal Veil Hall and Autumn Moon Archway, visitors will also experience an aesthetic sense of the nature in this section.

Winter Scenic Section

The Winter Scenic Section offers visitors another form of beauty, where over 20 modern sculptures by artists over from 10 countries around the world are distributed, including stone sculptures, porcelain sculptures and bronze sculptures. The plum blossoms are in bloom in winter, adding much luster to the park.

In addition to the four season scenic sections, the modern recreational programs such as fishing, shooting and climbing are available in the park. The merry-go-round, pirate ships, dragon boats and bumper cars are magnets for kids.

Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park is also an ideal place to taste local flavor. A number of famous restaurants and bars are scattered through the park, including Qing Yue Fang Restaurant, Yue Hu Zhen Restaurant, Autumn Coffee Shop, Noodle Bar and Yue Shan Hai Restaurant. If you are lucky enough, you can also appreciate the artwork show or car exhibition regularly held in the Moon Lake Art Gallery.
