Rainfall is high, but less than in June. There is about 155 mm of total precipitation each July, and it rains about 11 days of the month.
Clothing: Summer clothing should keep you cool, but cover your skin if you plan on walking on sunny days. Mosquitoes and sunburn are things to avoid. A hat and sunglasses will help protect you from solar radiation.
If you plan on hiking or walking up stairs, drink a lot of water and wear a hat on sunny days to prevent heatstroke, and make sure your shoes have good traction.

Visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Covered with lush greenery and wild flowers, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is very beautiful and cool during the summer months when its nature flourishes. It is a good place to escape the heat, which offers a number of shady trails suitable for long walks.
Stay Cool at Tianmen Mountain
Tianmen Mountain, the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie, is a good place to go to keep cool. The mountain is 1,519 meters (4,983 feet) above sea level, and it covers 10 square kilometers (4 square miles). It is covered with of green trees.
You can see charming peaks on the world's longest cable car, and walk on a glass-bottomed skywalk at an altitude of over 1,400 meters (4,700 feet).
Enjoy Rafting on Mengdong River
Mengdong River Scenic Area is widely known as an ideal place for rafting. Because of the fantastic scenery and unforgettable experience, rafting on Mengdong River has gained an appellation (locally) of "number one rafting spot in the world".
You can float down the river on rubber rafts. It has an adventurous feel, with torrents of water careening at sharp turns and off steep ramps. However, it is designed to be quite safe. It is easy, exciting, and full of fun.
