The Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City is inspired by the prosperous Tang Dynasty, a glorious period in China's history. It resembles a Chinese version of Universal Studios, where you can experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Tang Dynasty.
The city is divided into eight major areas, each featuring its own unique attractions. If you want to immerse yourself in the rich and colorful culture of ancient China, the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City is definitely worth a visit. Even as a local who has been there many times, it continues to amaze me.

Highlights of the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City
This historical area spans over 2,000 meters in length and 500 meters in width, featuring many archaistic buildings, unique vendors, local delicacies, and cultural heritage along both sides of the main street.

Enjoy the Great Music Fountain
One of the main attractions is the Great Music Fountain located in the northern square. At night, all the lights are illuminated, creating a stunning spectacle.

The Music Fountain operates in four sessions daily, with the following specific times:
- First session: 12:00-12:10
- Second session: 16:00-16:10
- Third session: 19:00-19:10
- Fourth session: 21:00-21:10
Tips: The 12:00 and 16:00 sessions on Tuesdays are usually canceled due to equipment maintenance.
Wear Traditional Hanfu to Immerse Yourself in the Tang Dynasty

Don't forget to dress in traditional Chinese Hanfu and capture some amazing photos. The blend of modern vibes and historical charm in Xi'an is truly unbeatable; it feels like traveling back 1,400 years.
Numerous Hanfu rental shops are available near this street. Many vendors try to attract passersby by asking, "Do you want to rent a Hanfu?" and offering low prices. However, if the price is below 200 RMB, it usually doesn't include fake eyelashes. I personally recommend checking the quality of the clothing before starting your makeup.

Watch Various Traditional Performances
Starting at 6:30 p.m. daily, there are various traditional performances at different times along this street, including the shouting fountain, music fountain light show, wall painting performance, roly-poly toy show, and Silk Road dance.

The area around the stage gets crowded with visitors whenever there's a performance.
Personally, I really enjoy the "Return to Chang'an" performance at 9 p.m. every night at Kaiyuan Square, located at the southernmost end of the street. I recommend queuing up 30 minutes in advance.
Take the Best Photo of the Great Wild Goose Pagoda
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City are located near each other. Crossing the road to the south of the Pagoda will take you to the northern end of Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City Street, making it easy for visitors to explore both in one trip.
If you enter the Joy City Mall and go to the fourth-floor observation deck, you can take close-up photos of the Great Wild Goose Pagoda without needing to pay to enter the Da Ci'en Temple where the pagoda is located.
You can capture beautiful photos at any time of day from here, but the most stunning moment is when the pagoda lights up, creating a breathtaking view, especially at night.

As a local, I don't recommend getting food from the street stalls here. They are both expensive and the taste is quite average.
However, there's a restaurant on this street called Chang'an Da Pai Dang, which offers a comprehensive selection of Xi'an snacks. The prices are reasonable, and the taste is excellent. I often go there with my family.

Best Times to Visit the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City

Due to varying sunset times in winter and summer, I suggest visiting after 8 p.m. in summer and after 6:30 p.m. in winter when the street lights are all on. Although it is open all day, most performances end before 9:30 p.m.
Since this street has become popular on TikTok, there are many people every night. If you want to choose a time with fewer crowds, consider visiting before winter vacation, from December to early January, when it's cold and the area is least crowded.
Every New Year and Lantern Festival, the theme of the lanterns varies according to different zodiac signs, but there are typically many tourists.

Both Metro Line 3 and Metro Line 4 reach Ever Bright City. Especially on Metro Line 3, there is a stop directly at the North Square of the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, allowing easy access to the fountain performance square right after getting off.
The last train of Line 3 and Line 4 departs around 22:30.

Nearby Attractions
South Lake Scenic Area (Qujiang Ruins Park)

Before or after visiting the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City, you can stroll around the nearby South Lake Scenic Area, also known as Qujiang Ruins Park.
It is located in the southeast corner of the Tang Dynasty Chrysanthemum Garden and is an open urban ecological cultural park that integrates historical culture, ecological gardens, and landscape leisure tourism.
The park features many sculptures depicting the social life of the Tang Dynasty. It is a quiet yet lively place. Locals often say, "Half of all Tang poetry can be found in Qujiang Pool." Regardless of the season or time of day, it is worth a visit.
The distance between South Lake and the Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City is about 3 kilometers, which would take roughly 11 minutes by car, depending on traffic. You can also take a short taxi or Didi ride for convenience.
The park is open 24 hours and is free to enter. The night view is definitely more beautiful than during the day.
Giant Wild Goose Pagoda

If you want to see the music fountain, consider visiting the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda in the afternoon, having a meal nearby, and then watching the music fountain around 7 PM. After that, you can explore the Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City. This way, you'll save time and effort while enjoying both attractions.
Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City vs. Tang Paradise
Both the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City and Tang Paradise showcase elements of the Tang Dynasty and are beautifully illuminated at night. The ticket for Tang Paradise is about 120 yuan per person, while entry to the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City is free.

Tang Paradise is designed in the style of a royal garden and is the first large-scale royal garden-style theme cultural park in China that comprehensively showcases the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty.
However, its daytime scenery is quite average, with some Tang-style buildings and lakes. If you insist on going, the best time is during the Spring Festival when the lanterns at night are particularly beautiful.
Personally, I don't recommend visiting at other times; spending your time in the Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City is sufficient.
